What's New in Windows 8.1


This half-day training will allow you to use easier end-users functionalities on Windows 8.1. Attendees will be able to take the training in face-to-face or in tutored E-Learning. (1h15 getting started with the tool with a certified trainer)
Then attendees will continue, at their own pace, their E-Learning training courses, while asking question to a trainer at their disposal.
In a second time, they will follow alone, at their own pace, the chosen training, while practising with exercises.


This training course is intended for people who needs to be familiar with the new features offered by the Windows 8.1 operating system, with the end-users point of view.


Before attending this course, participants should have a working knowledge of previous Windows operating systems.

At course completion

After completing this course, participants will be able to:
  • Use the Start menu and Windows 8.1 applications
  • Use the desktop, the icon search and the network
  • Use the File Explorer (before called Windows explorer)
  • Use the Control Panel, manage security and share resources
  • Use Microsoft Edge, the Mailbox and the Calendar


This course doesn't prepare to a specific certification, but can help to obtain the Microsoft certification 70687, Configuring Windows 8.1, if you want to go further in the topic.

  • The Search Tab

  • Previewing open pages
  • Taking notes, writing and underlining directly on web pages
  • Saving your favorite articles through a “reading list”
