Windows 7: Towards a new standard for secure and flexible business
The version of Microsoft's client platform, Windows 7 is more secure, customizable and closer to our working habits. It combines the benefits of Windows XP and Windows Vista.
The new security model in Windows 7 addresses the highly controversial "User Access Control" introduced in Vista, making it more effective and discreet. The Bitlocker surface encryption process has now been extended to removable media in order to preserve and ensure data privacy protection, whereas the former encryption system (EFS) did not allow this. In addition, "Seven" has now introduced Applocker, which enables enterprises to prevent users from running unauthorized applications.
Microsoft has evolved its Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack (MDOP) and Solution Accelerators to include a new deployment model that reduces the number of images in rationalized or automated installations.
The platform also introduces a new virtual method called "XP mode", to ensure compatibility with applications developed under Windows XP. This functionality also allows the running of applications that are not "Seven" certified.
Lastly, Windows 7 now has native support from the latest PC industry technologies, including biometric devices, wireless network with direct support of Intel and Cisco security options.

How to get transparent Photoshop or Illustrator images in Office
Photoshop and Illustrator are graphic design packages which allow the use of transparency. However, when pasting these images into Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio or Publisher, these images often appear with a white framed solid background.
Here is how you can preserve the transparency of your images.
- Open the image which contains transparency:
- In Photoshop, choose "File/Save as..."
- In Illustrator, choose "File/Export..."
- Choose the location to save the file
- Choose the file type "PNG (Portable Network Graphics)" and then save
- In Office, insert your image by choosing "Insert / Image / From file..." and that's it!
Note: PNG images are compressed without any loss of quality and preserve transparency at the same time. JPG images are lighter than PNG images, but they lose both pixel quality and transparency.
